HAND-STITCHING
Projects #1 and #2: Mouse needle book and pincushion
Projects #3 and #4: Candy heart pockets and heart barrettes
Projects #5 and #6: Yo-yo flower buttons and Spring Fling Purse
How to sew a yo-yo. Turn sides over 1/4" and stitch loosely around edges. (Picture below is the reverse side)

When done sewing, tug gently on the threads until it begins to gather...

When gathered, adjust so the fabric lays flat. You can stitch it closed at this point or add your buttons.
The girls are doing a great job and picking things up quickly!
Embellish the purse first (with the yo-yo buttons and ribbon), then whip stitch the sides together. Finish by pinning and stitching the bottom piece in place!
