Travel Pouches

Here are some pictures of the terry cloth travel pouches we will be sewing in class. Our first machine project!
Take a terry cloth washcloth and fold it in half to fit your toothbrush.
Iron the crease, then pin. Use a ruler and divide your pouches as desired with a ruler and chalk. Mine were three inches wide.
When you are done, it should look something like this...
Next measure your favorite ribbon to be approx. 25" long. Fold in half and cut again. You have two ribbons now.
If your ribbon has a printed side, put the two right sides together and pin somewhere in the middle, just far enough in that it will be caught in the seam when sewing the sides together.
Begin sewing. (I used blue thread so you can see my stitches better) Start on the end and work your way over.
When you get the the ribbon at the end, go forward and backward over it a few times to strengthen.
When you are finished, it should look something like this...
Put your travel supplies in and roll it up
Tie the ribbons and you are finished! Easy peazy lemon squeezy.
